Film & Creative Industry Workforce Training

NOVAC supports the expansion of the Louisiana film industry, and the opportunities to develop careers in that industry. Feature film, TV and commercial producers are seeking qualified, skilled workers to fill positions in incoming productions and with production companies. So NOVAC has created partnerships with local governments, trade unions and industry partners, including Entertainment Partners Financial Solutions and Spectrum FX, to create an annual slate of film industry workforce training opportunities for locals to begin careers in the industry.

For The Industry

Youth Programs

We actually do believe the children are our future (Thank you, Whitney). They are our future storytellers, designers, makers, technologists and artists.

The Born Digital Youth Media Program at NOVAC develops young future creatives, ages 8 to 24, from diverse backgrounds in South Louisiana who can use digital media training opportunities to develop high wage and low barrier entry to careers. We do this through Career and Technical Education for High School Students, Internships, Summer Camps, and After School Programs.

Born Digital

Virtuous Video Production

For nearly 50 years NOVAC has been producing high quality, relevant social and community content, with the goal of creating content in partnership with the communities we are part of and who we represent. In 1974 we launched Survival Information Television, a series of documentary content addressing issues in New Orleans designed and created by New Orleanians. Today we produce video content through our Virtuous Video production services.

We also offer video tape preservation services for the following formats: ¾”, Beta SP, VHS, Video8, Hi8, Digital8 and MiniDV.
